I originally started with the head of the figure by manipulating images of flowers that were taken in Florida. Having known that I would be creating a figure based from the head area. I started layering spray paint for the background. Then I started using various items, that will be repurposed into other pieces, to create more form in the background. A pouring medium and acrylic paint were then applied to canvas to give it texture. More detail was added with the use of acrylic paint markers, stencil, and more spray (fluorescent). Final details were added with gel pens.

My passion for repurposing is put on display with this 24 in. x 36 in. mixed media piece. The background of the canvas was originally a spray painted guitar for a poster project I did back in 2018 while living in Indiana. I eventually covered it up with more spray paint, lace, paper, using various items as stencils. I had been saving various plastic cards with the intent of creating some type of dragon or snake. Finally with enough cards on hand I used a manual guitar pick maker to punch out the scales.
